THE EVENSTAR INSTITUTE

The Evenstar Institute is a non-partisan, not-for-profit think tank focused on helping countries and companies to understand the evolving nature of national influence, so as to better inform strategy and policy decisions. We do this across three research programmes:

  • China’s Influence and National Security

  • Macro Supply Chain Resilience

  • Comparative National Influence

We use proprietary models to quantitatively and qualitatively chart the development of national influence, supplemented by a wide contributory network of experts from different industries across the world.

The starting point to our work is an understanding of influence as a challenge to national autonomy. This includes analysing the impact of national geopolitical and geoeconomic influence on key areas such as national security, trade dependence, and digital infrastructure. We also measure and understand a nation’s influence in comparison with other countries, to deliver insights into shifting patterns of strategic alignment.
